CODY'S STORY

Cody Wayne Thompson was born on July 26, 1982 to Mike and Denise Thompson and had an older sister, Stephanie Thompson Strack. He grew up in Altair, Marlin, Lewis, Kansas and set down his roots in Garwood, Texas. He and I, Shelley Boenisch, married on February 17, 2007. We were blessed to have three girls: Faith (10), Ria (7) and Brynn (5).

As many of you know we lost our Cody Wayne earlier this year doing what he loved to do…. flying. It has been in his blood since he was a baby as he grew up watching his dad, grandpa and several uncles all fly. We wanted to reach out to each of you and give you the opportunity to help our family out during this rough time. We are having a raffle with some amazing prizes and we will also be having the Inaugural Cody Thompson Memorial Benefit January 11, 2020.

Yes, we are raising money for our family through this inaugural raffle and benefit, but we have much bigger plans. We plan to hold a yearly benefit in Cody’s honor to not only benefit our family, but to be able to give scholarships to deserving individuals as well as helping out wives and families that are unexpectedly put in my same position, which we pray every day does not happen.

It has been amazing seeing all of the support that our community, near and far, have already given me and the girls and I want you to know that we appreciate it beyond measure; THANK YOU will never be enough.

With love,
Shelley and our girls
